One of the great pleasures of being an MP is being invited to visit so many different community and faith groups and events across our area.
For example, I was delighted to be invited to give a reading on Sunday 20th December at the "Festival of Lessons and Carols" at St. Mary's Church in Whitkirk. It was a wonderful service in a wonderful church.
And the choir of local people were truly incredible. They were so good that if I hadn't have known better I'd have thought they were a professional choir brought in as part of touring church to church.
I met one local man who is now 74 years old and who has been in the St. Mary's Choir since he was 8 years old. I also met someone who used to work with my grandma. Small world!
It was also good to hear people's views on political issues over mince pies in the church hall afterwards.
